Music Review #3 - U-KISS 3rd Mini-Album "Conti Ukiss"
Tracklist:
01. INTRO
02. 만만하니
03. O.K. (오케이)
04. 만만하니 (Inst.)
Alright, so it's been awhile since I last did a review. Here goes~ Review START!
This time around, I'm doing a review on the new release of a
forgotten boyband that lacked popularity as they were overshadowed by other power boybands debuting last year. This mini-album has just 2 songs; excluding the INTRO and the instrumental track of Track2(만만하니 "manmanhani")so if it were me, I'd just name this their 3rd singles and not a mini-album. Even some of other released singles CDs around the K-pop scene have 3 tracks. Let's move on to the songs. The INTRO honestly was the best song of the mini-album. It has a solid rap and is a powerful intro to the new U-Kiss. However, as soon as the second track starts to play, it has this thing about the song that actually makes you wanna click next. The song is heavily influenced by Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry". The song itself is just heavily auto-tuned. None of the members' voice can be heard clearly. Brave Brothers, the composers and producers has their misses too it seems. The song only sounds better with the music video which is not a good thing. The third track "Ok!" is well just ok as the title suggested. I do agree that U-Kiss have improved alot from the previous singles but they just don't have what it takes to be on the A-list of the new generations of boyband idols yet. Perhaps the only thing good about this mini-album is that it shows that U-Kiss is slowly improving.

Music Review #2 - SS501 Mini-Album "Rebirth"
Tracklist:
01. WASTELAND
02. Love Like This (네게로)
03. 하루만
04. Obsess (중동...)
05. 완.두.콩.
Alright, so this is my second music review. Review #2, START!! ^^
This time, I am reviewing on the new release from SS501. Let's start with the first track, Wasteland. The song itself is very well-sung but the only thing that annoys me is the sound production and arrangement of the track which actually makes the song come across messy. Track2 (Love Like This) is perhaps the best track in this mini-album. Eventhough, I am not very fond of overly-auto-tuned songs, this track is quite catchy and have the potential to be a hit especially considering that SS501 have already made their status as household names trhough their years of being active in this industry. Track3 (하루만 "HaRuMan")is a ballad track that showed off their vocal colours; well-sung but not catchy and the ad-libs are quite weak whereas it could have had better voicing and arrangement. Track4 (Obsess) is an ordinary track; forgetable and the Engrish is a bit annoying. Lastly, the final track, Track5 (완.두.콩) gives off a Jason-ish vibe or something that is really campfire-ish feel to it. The Engrish actually sounds English and the voicing is perfect. This track is the best example of not over-mixing a song. Simplicity is the key at most times.

Music Review #1 - Younha Vol.3 "Part A : Peace Love & Ice Cream"
Tracklist:
01 . Peace Love & Ice Cream
02 . Black Rain
03 . Break Out
04 . 1,2,3
05 . She is...
06 . 사랑하다
07 . Luv U Luv U Luv U
08 . My song and...(Koran ver)
09 . 1,2,3(instrumental)
10 . 사랑하다(instrumental)
Alright, so I checked my old *really old* posts and found out that I said that I'm gonna do reviews on... stuffs... Hence, this is my review #1!
This is another release of Younha that I'm currently listening to ALOT. Eventhough it was released like on April this year but I'm still listening to it. It is a really good thing since I don't usually still listen to old stuff unless I really like it. This Vol.3 has 10 tracks in it but for me its more like 7 tracks to it only since Track3 (Black Rain) is actually an intro track to Track4 (Break Out) and the other last 2 tracks are instrumental versions. The one thing that I really like from this release is Track5 (She is...), the "quiet" part of the album. Not many albums has this kind of thing. In fact, this is the first time I've come across such a thing. Its an instrumental piano track played Younha herself before the songs with vocals starts again. The title tracks, Track1 (Love Peace & Ice Cream) and Track4 (1,2,3) are refreshing. Track7 (Luv U Luv U Luv U) is dissapointing though. It sounds like a Lady Gaga rip-off in a way. It is well-sung but its just not her style. Overall, this is nice album for those of you that enjoy some not-overly-noisy electronic music that overflowing the k-scene.

Girls' Generation Soars in Album Sales

All-girl pop group Girls’ Generation is poised to top the 100,000 mark in album sales. If the nine-member group does so, it will become the first musician this year to sell more than 100,000 copies in Korea. The group’s agency said that the album sold around 70,000 copies as of January 29th, twenty days after the album release.
The news is especially encouraging to the struggling Korean music industry, as the girls’ album is not a regular album, but a mini album containing only five songs. The success of the mini album hints at the likely popularity for their second regular album. The first album of Girls’ Generation sold about 102,000 copies from November 2007 through March 2008. This is the first time that a female idol group topped 100,000 copies in album sales since the fifth album of S.E.S. recorded 400,000 copies back in 2002.
The spiking album sales can be attributed to the album’s addictive title song, “Gee.” The catchy and funky song has already finished No.1 in various music programs.

SNSD Album Sales Zoom with Gee

With the booming popularity of "Gee", SNSD's first album has even had a burst of sales.
SNSD released their first mini album on the 7th, titled "Gee". As soon as this album was released, it immediately went to number one on both on and off line charts, ensuring that they will occupy the music industry in this new year.
With this explosion of popularity, their first album that was released in November of 2007 has also had an increase of album sales.
According to offline album chart research company Hanteo, within ten days of release, "Gee" has sold over 30,000 copies. According to their agency SM Entertainment, they have sold nearly 65,000 copies. Note that there is a difference between the number of album sales reported by Hanteo, which utilizes a sample survey in order to get their numbers, and SM Entertainment, who gets their numbers from the number of albums shipped out to the stores. The most accurate number would be the aggregate of the two.
With the release of "Gee", their first album sales have spiked as well. According to Hanteo charts, their first album sold over 4,000 copies in January thus far. From January 5th to the 13th, it occupied the 9th and 10th place positions on their ranking charts. It is believed that their actual sales will have surpassed this.
It is extremely rare for an album that was released a year and three months ago to still be ranked in the TOP 10, thereby proving the incredibly popularity of "Gee".
An industry analyst said "You can tell that SNSD has garnered many fans after their nine month hiatus. No longer can you refer to SNSD simply as just an idol group but a top national group with mass appeal. The SNSD brand is no longer just a temporary trend as they have established themselves with having long lasting permanent value for consumers across the nation."

Tiffany, "My heart hurts when people speaks ill of my parents."

SNSD's Tiffany talks about the most difficult time since the start of her career.
On the 16th, during "Choi HwaJung's Powertime" on SBS PowerFM (107.7MHz), in answering a question in the section "rumours that makes my heart feel uneasy", Tiffany said "When I first came to Korea, I could not adapt and it is difficult for me to converse with people. It hurts me when people blames my parents for this."
Tiffany said, "I came to Korea even when my parents object me from coming", "It hurts me when people insults my parents for something I didn't do well."
Also, the other members, Jessica said "Unexpectedly, based on single picture, there were plastic surgery rumors about me; even my parents struggled, too."
Sunny said, "Before I debut, because I live in the same neighborhood as the idol artistes, when there is a scandal about me and them, it is a painful experience."

So Nyeo Shi Dae Taeyeon close to tears: "I apologise to the nurses"
So Nyeo Shi Dae Taeyeon close to tears: „I apologise to the nurses"
After one week of the incident on the 19th in MBC FM Radio "Kangin Taeyeon's Chinhan Chingoo" DJ Taeyeon sent out an official apology to the nurses.
DJ Kangin said in the opening "There's a time when you feel the other person's happiness when they say something. Then there is a time your life changes because of some words from another person. And then there are people who have to live their life with some words they said." Taeyeon: "The power of words is big". She added: "A small fire can burn down an entire forest."
Kangin said "In your words, you have to think of the opposite. But depending on the circumstances you say words only from your perspective" and thus admitting the mistake Taeyeon did to the nurses. Taeyeon said: "I was sick last week and I didn't think about the opposite when I said some things. I am really sorry if my words were wrong and have hurt you. I am going to try being more careful and thinking about the opposite." After that, they both admitted the mistake and made an official apology to everyone.
Jaurim's "20세기 소년소녀" was broadcasted after the apology. After the song, Taeyeon apologised again "I said it in the opening before but I want to apologise for my mistake last week. I think that I hurt many people and that many have thought that what I said was wrong. I feel immature about that.". With that she admitted her mistake and was close to tears.
Kangin said: "Once more again with my head down I want to express my words of apology. We will not repeat the same mistake. Again, Taeyeon and I are apologising with our heads down."
On the 12th, Taeyeon said: "I got to the hospital to get an injection but they said they couldn't give me one because the nurse had to go to eat. But has the patient to be sick in the time when the nurse is free and has nothing to do like going to eat?" Because of that the discussions started. Kangin said "I think they lost their minds and only thought about themselves" and joked about "go to eat for the rest of your lives".
As the discussion and anger of the nurses got too much, SNSD Taeyeon's and Super Junior Kangin's company SM Entertainment had to apologise fast but they didn't know that discussions would continue. Thus they made an official apology through the radio broadcast on the 19th.

SNSD, "It's awkward for us to be called sexy!", Long interview, read it~!!
Somewhere, signs of spring are spreading.

The cute and bubbly So Nyuh Shi Dae's (Yoona, Sooyoung, Hyuyeon, Yuri, Taeyeon, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Seohyun) comeback has been welcomed like a panacea. If you have listened to their album, it's fun and fresh as if spring has already started.
They have come back after 9 months 14 months since their have an album with new songs. The new album, as expected, has been a hot issue. The title song, "Gee" is a fast paced dance song about a girl that does not know what to do when she experiences her first love.
The repeating chorus, "Gee Gee Gee Gee Be Be Be Be" contains the freshness and longing of a first love and is ripe for becoming addicted. Along with their comeback, they have been sweeping online and offline music charts, and on their first performance on the 10th, they showed off a "crab leg" dance in colorful skinny jeans which showed off a doll-esque charm. The dance where they spell out the English letter "G" is also popular.
The nine girls who said that coming back [after such a long time] feels like debuting again, stated that, "we wish everyone will gain strength from listening to our songs."
-Comeback, and Music

>There seems to be one member one missing
(Jessica) Taeyeon has a cold so she couldn't come to the interview. She's not very sick, but she needs rest. Aso you can see, the other members are very healthy. Since we all eat well and are strong, you don't have to worry.
>The response to the title song "Gee" is very hot
(Sooyoung) It's an addicting song. It has an exciting melody and you start moving to the rhythm just by listening to it. "Gee" is an expression that Americans use often. It has a similar meaning to "omona" or "kkamjjakiya". Koreans think that Americans use "oh my god" a lot, but "gee" is used just as often. This song was written by E-tribe, the same person that wrote Hyori unni's "You Go Girl".
>Along with the title song, "Himnae", "Let's talk about LOVE" and other songs are about giving people energy and not giving up. Is there a particular reason why?
(Tiffany) The economy isn't good right now and there are a lot of people that are having a hard time. People with jobs are probably really stressed, so we want all the unnis and oppas to gain strength through our songs.
>As So Nyuh Shi Dae you still feel the impacts of the declining economy. Where do you see it the most?
(Tiffany) I visited America to see my parents, and when I went to exchange currency, I was surprised. The economy is really in a slump. Even during Christmas and New Years times, it feels different than before.

>There hare probably many people who are heartened by So Nyuh Shi Dae's music, but when So Nyuh Shi Dae is down, who do you go to?
(Yuri) Strangely, when we talk with other members, we feel better and we figure out solutions quickly. We gossip and confide with each other and gain strength from each other.
(Sooyoung) In my case I just cry. Our apartment is right next to the Han River, so I go out to walk and listen to sad music.
(Hyoyeon) I don't cry, but I go to the Han River and exercise. Then it feels better.
(Jessica) I keep listening to music. What music I listen to changes from day to day, but I usually keep quiet and listen to music.
(Yoona) I like riding buses. I ride on buses alone or walk around Apgujeong alone.
>I seems like you are more feminine now. Normally girl groups have an "image" change when releasing a new album, have you had the desire to come out with a sexy or boyish concept?
(Hyoyeon. Seohyun. Sooyoung) After getting a year older, we hear that we have become a lot more feminine. The fans are witnessing our transformation from sonyuhs to sookhyuhs (girl to woman). Looking your age is the prettiest. A sexy concept wouldn't fit us. Being called sexy is still awkward and unfamiliar. Before we wore hoodies, t-shirts and school look fashions a lot, but in this album we wear a lot of tight fitting skinny jeans. Hopefully you'll see a little of our feminine charm and sexiness. (laughs)
-Normally, fans... So Nyuh Shi Dae

>You must have to constantly think about your diet to wear skinny jeans.
(Sooyoung. Yoona) Well we have no choice but to pay attention to our diet. The group image can't be tainted by just me. But normal students seem to pay attention to their looks more than us, haha!
>You have a lot of male fans, but you especially have a lot of 40~50 year old ahjussi fans. Is it pressuring at all? (laughs)
It might be that there is that sense of fantasy of a sonyuh (girl). Just think of us as cute.
>You also have a lot of female fans right? What do they like about you?
(Sooyoung) We have more female fans than expected. I think they think of us as friendly, younger sisters.
>After the new album released, who cheered you on the most?
Obviously there are our families and SM family, but Lee Seungchul sunbaenim also cheered us on a lot. We met him at a broadcasting station not too long ago and he said that, "your song is good, work hard," and greeted us warmly. Comedian Kim Shinyoung unni always give us support, and Lee Yeonhee unni also monitors us closely. Also, our friend from when we were younger, Park Minyoung unni is a fan of So Nyuh Shi Dae. She says she listens to So Nyuh Shi Dae songs all the time.
>You can't leave out "Figure star" Kim YunA from the list of So Nyuh Shi Dae supporters right?
(So Nyuh Shi Dae) All of the members are huge fans of Kim YunA, and we keep track of her competitions. If we meet, we feel that there will be a sense of familiarity. We want to meet her.

>Are you getting tired of living together in an apartment?
Even now we travel around, go to church, visit our parents, and go out to eat, so we have a lot of freedom. There isn't really much that is uncomfortable right now.
>After becoming famous have you gone out alone in disguise?
(So Nyuh Shi Dae) Everybody has at least done it once. There are set items prepared when we go out. If we wear that, people don't recognize us that much. If we go out and look at someone that's disguised, it sometimes ends up being one of our members. (laughs)
>Yoona and Sooyoung are now going to college... what are the plans?
(Yoona) Even if it's for just an hour, I want to work hard at that one class. I want to mungle normally with my classmates and seniors. Since it is a college where a lot of celebrities attend I feel that people won't pay any more attention to me, so I want to go to an MT.
(Sooyoung) I would like nothing more than to attend school like any other student, but what I want to do the most is join a club. I'm worried that they might consider me as a celebrity before a student. It might just be baseless worries, but I want to try my hardest in college.
>How do you spend your free time? What's the most recent movie you watched?
(So Nyuh Shi Dae) It's been a long time since we've watched a movie. All our members watched "Soonjung Manhwa" which featured Sooyoung. Oh, there are a couple members that watched, "gwasok (speeding?) Scandal". Members who have similar free times go to the theaters together. We also download movies to watch during travel time. All the members enjoyed the drama, "The world they live in". Although the viewer rating wasn't that good, it's a drama that you can get drawn into. As for variety shows, we watch past shows over and over. But all in all, the programs we pay the most attention to are the music programs.
(Jessica) I watch the cable channel "On Style" a lot because there are a lot of fun reality shows and fashion programs.
-Anticipation, Idol, 20s and Dreams

>Taeyeon isn't here right now, but which couple do you like the most from WGM?
the ant couple. It was so fun. It was enjoyable to watch because you can see each couple's charms.
>Is there another person that you feel would match Taeyeon better than Jung Hyungdon?
No. At first we were like, "congratu-lations?" but since's he's a fun person, we think he fits. He treats us nicely when we see him at broadcasting stations.
>What do you think you'll do if a scandal comes up?
(So Nyuh Shi Dae) We won't really react to any kind of scandal that comes up. We laugh together and move on. This kind of question is a first. It's fresh. We never really had to think of that. If it were true, we might be more forward about it. When we get to that age and that situation, there are a lot of rumors. You know when some story about some celebrity seeing another celebrity... we haven't thought of coming out in a scandal before.
>I'm curious about each member's idol (perfect guy)
(Yoona) A kind, caring, and warm person
(Sunny) A very nice person
(Hyoyeon) I like a person who is tall and has a good sense of humor
(Seohyun) A smart, well-mannered, proper person
(Yuri) A caring and well-mannered person
(Sooyoung) Someone who is avid about his work
(Jessica) Someone like Daniel Henney (laughs)
>Who is a sunbae that you respect?
(members) BoA sunbaenim!!!
(Yuri. Sooyoung) Also, we experienced a lot when we went to Lee Hyori unni's year end concert. After singing songs together from 10 years ago such as "Ruby" and "Eternal Love" and crying; and holding each other and saying, "I really wanted to see you," really touched us. Especially when Hyori unni said that, "[I] am happy to have spent time in my 20s with you when I was young and carefree," made us teary eyed. It was a moment where we thought about our future, and we thought that it would be nice to be like that later on.
>You must have been asked the question about your "rivals" the Wonder Girls a lot
(Sooyoung) Some members are really close to the Wonder Girls. We enjoy listening to Wonder Girls' songs, and we really cheered them on when they were doing well. It also motivated us to try harder as well.
>Do you ever get jealous when one member gets the spotlight before others?
We believe that members can't have the same amount of popularity. Of course certain members are loved more, and there will be times when certain members get the spotlight first. We as member are actually more thankful for Yoona and Taeyeon because a wide range of ages get to know about So Nyuh Shi Dae. We truly root for them, as if [I] personally am doing well. If one member shines, then all of So Nyuh Shi Dae shines as well. After living together for a couple years even out speech patterns and eating habits are becoming similar. We are like real sisters.
>There are members who have turned 20 this year, how do you want to spend you 20s?
(Yoona) I want this to be a time where I mature internally
(Sooyoung) There are a lot of things I regret as a teenager. "I should have skipped practice and gone on that class trip." Those kinds of regrets come up, so in my 20s, I want to fall in love, cry because of a breakup, and win awards. I also want to travel a lot so when 29 comes around I want to feel that I've tried most things in life.
(Hyoyeon) I want to accomplish what I've been dreaming of. I've dreamt of dancing and learning more dancing outside of korea and having my skills acknowledged.
(Yuri) I want to live my 20s so that in 10 years I can hear people say, "I want to be like So Nyuh Shi Dae unnis"
(Sunny) I want to have some time to prepare for my future. I want to experience a lot and go up against things that I might fail at
(Tiffany) I want my 20s to be like coffee. Where there are sweet as well as bitter times... I also want to show people that I am addicted to music all through my 20s
(So Nyuh Shi Dae) All of our members want to fall in love during our 20s (all members agree)

Disappointing top of Music Bank for SNSD, "1st is not 1st"
"Even though there was a 1st there was no 1st"
Within 9 days of their comeback, So Nyuh Shi Dae reached the top of Music Bank.
So Nyuh Shi Dae's mini album title song "Gee" took first on Music Bank's K-chart which is aired live on KBS 2TV on the 16th. Their rise to the top of public program charts within 10 days of coming back showed off their immense amount of popularity they are garnering.
But So Nyuh Shi Dae was not present at the concert. For 2 weeks straight, So Nyuh Shi Dae has been unable to attend Music Bank and has even become the center of controversy. Although the broadcasting co. and SM Ent. are not disclosing much information, associates are saying that the reason for the no shows is due to bad feelings between the two.
There has been much disappoinment because So Nyuh Shi Dae - which has been taking the music scene by storm in 2009 - is stuck in the middle of this. Because of this unnecessary conflict, So Nyuh Shi Dae along with their fans have been unable to attend. It is a time where we all wish there is some compromise between the broadcasting co. and SM.
So Nyuh Shi Dae was originally planning on making their Music Bank comeback on the 9th, but fans had become suspicious with the sudden cancelling of that plan. From then on, many people have begun to predict that the reason was due to disagreements between KBS and SM Entertainment.
There had been positive talk by SM associates about So Nyuh Shi Dae performing at Music Bank on the 16th, but once again, the performance has been cancelled.
In response to this KBS people stated that, "So Nyuh Shi Dae is unable to perform due to undisclosed reasons." People are beginning to say, "that it will be hard to see So Nyuh Shi Dae come out in Music Bank for a whole."

SNSD's MuBank appearance once again cancelled.. "It will be hard (to appear) for a while"

Popular Girl group SNSD's KBS 2TV "Music Bank" appearance has been cancelled.
SNSD was supposed to appear in the live KBS 2TV music program "Music Bank" on the 16th. However, just like what happened on the 9th, SNSD won't be able to appear on "Music Bank"
KBS 2TV "Music Bank"'s staff informed Moneytoday StarNews that "As per KBS's rules, it will be hard to see SNSD on Music Bank for a while."
Rumors rose up that other SM Entertainment artists will have a hard time appearing on "Music Bank" as well due to arguments concerning the last year's December 30th "2008 KBS Gayo Celebration"
After SNSD didn't appear on the 9th, however, both sides (SM Ent. and MuBank) said that there are no hard feelings and that "SNSD delayed their stage on MuBank to prepare so they can have a better performance on the 16th."
In reality, SM artist SHINee appeared on MuBank on the 2nd and the 9th, thus proving the hard feeling between SM and KBS wrong.
But since SNSD's appearance was cancelled for two weeks, many in the music industry are saying that KBS still has hard feelings against SM for not letting some of their artists perform in the "2008 KBS Gayo Celebration" and is therefore not letting SNSD perform on MuBank for a while.

Wonder Girls, Girls' Generation, Kara, The Factors Behind Their Popularity

By Park JaeDuk @ JoyNews (avalo@joynews24.com)
Leading of the rush of idol girl-groups, the Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation (SNSD), and Kara, have each honestly revealed the contributing factors to their popularity.
Rising up as ‘National Little Sisters’ after their consecutive hits "Tell Me", "So Hot", and "Nobody", the Wonder Girls noted their ‘5 person, 5 colors’ individuality as the leading factor in their popularity. The member’s distinctive personalities are appealing because they correspond to the varying tastes of fans.
The Wonder Girls stated, “If you look at the fans, it seems as though they like one member while disliking four out of five of us. It’s because all five of us have different personalities.”
Moreover, they used anime metaphors to explain, “If you look at ‘Sailor Moon,’ isn’t there always one character you prefer among Sailor Moon, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Venus? Looking at ‘Wedding Peach’ too, you’re bound to like one character more out of Peach, Lily, Daisy. ”
In addition to their ‘5 person, 5 colors’, the Wonder Girls also picked their ‘Non-celebrity-like familiarity’ as their personal charm.
Girls’ Generation, who returned after nine months to sweep both the on and off-line music charts with their comeback, pointed to their bright and wholesome charm as the primary factor in their popularity.
Girls’ Generation offered a rather mature analysis, stating, “It seems like people like the image of girls who look like they’re running around laughing in a thick meadow.” Fans feel happier and gain strength from seeing the members’ individual colors on top of this wholesome and lively charm.
“It’s most impressive when fans say they gained strength during tough times after seeing a Girls’ Generation clip,” stated Girls’ Generation. “They seem to see the bright side out of seeing us genuinely enjoy the work we do."
On the other hand, Kara, who is quickly coming up with the release of their second mini-album and the title song "Pretty Girl", selected their ‘team’s quality for looking natural and lively rather than doll-like prettiness’ as a factor in their popularity.
Kara’s hopes for the future were also revealed. “After undergoing a change in members, we increased our recognition with our first mini-album "Rock U". Now with "Pretty Girl" it seems like we’ve found our own color. We want to be remembered for being natural and lively while being comfortable and easy-going.”
The colors they’ve recently shown on broadcast TV stem from their desire to be seen not as an idol group but as comfortable and easy-going.
The Wonder Girls’ distinct personalities,
Girls’ Generation’s bright and wholesome charm, and comfortable and natural Kara—the fascinating battle between the ‘3 shades of charm’ will continue to draw the attention of fans.

SNSD "We Sing a Bright Song for Those who are Tired"

"I recently visited the U.S. to see my parents but I was surprised by the mood there. It really seems like our economy isn't good. It doesn't feel like the new year and people look very tired. For those of you going to work and studying for exams, listen to our song and cheer up!" (Tiffany)
SNSD recently made a comeback with their song "Himnae (Way to Go)" to give strength to those who need it. On the thirteenth when I met SNSD, they said, "Long time no see!" and laughed. It's been nine months since I saw the nine girls have been together. Yoona, who has been acting in the drama You Are My Destiny, which topped of a view of 40%, Taeyeon, who has worked on the OST for the drama Beethoven Virus and aired for the radio, and Sooyoung who has been working on her movie, have all been busy during the time.
Coming back with their mini-album Gee, they say that "through this long time of hard work, they will be performing for a while". The fans are also on fire. After the album release, the internet has brought SNSD to the top and their dances on broadcasting television has also brought tons of excitement.
Most of the fans seem to be many males aging from 20 to 30. They attend SNSD's concerts even while going to work.
"I like how they think very cutely of us. That's why I think it's not necessary for us to go through some sexy makeover. Just as we don't want any scandals we like this teenage image we have." (Sooyoung)
Although it seems hard to all live together, Jessica thinks that "because we know each other well and care for each other" they "cry with each other and sometimes go out to the sea for air or go to the movies together".
Tiffany said, "Although it looks like we get jealous of the members that get successful, we always encourage each other." She thinks that because of the long time that they've been together, the way they talk is almost the same as well.
They looked proud coming back in their tight skinny jeans with a white t-shirt.
Sooyoung and Yoona are still looking ahead towards college, and Seohyun, the only 19 year old left, is surpassed by all the other members in their 20s. We asked them about how they felt of their age.
"SNSD's dream is my dream. I hope SNSD will be able to spread throughout the world." (Taeyeon)
"I hope this year will be successful. If I can, I also want to continue acting." (Yoona)
"Although everyone makes mistakes, I don't want to turn back and look at my 20s and see things I'll regret." (Jessica)
"I want to become the top dancer who's learned dancing from foreign countries. Same with singing. I'm very greedy aren't I?" (Hyoyeon)
"I want the people who've grown up watching us to say in ten years that they want to live like us!" (Yuri)
"I want to experience the world and live hard. I also want to know how to get over mistakes and errors as well." (Sunny)

[NoCutNews] Female Idol Group SNSD, Comeback After 9 Months with Mini-Album 'Gee'

SNSD is finally back.
SNSD, who has changed from inexperienced girls to girls growing slightly into womanhood, has started their group activities on the 7th with their mini-album 'Gee'. The interest in them was reflected as soon as they had their comeback as they swept all the online and offline charts, showing their popularity.
“We are happy that the response has been positive, as we prepared really hard. Since in our debut we could only show our cute side, this time we want to show a different image. We put all our efforts to give our fans a more comfortable and familiar side.” (Taeyeon)
Made by E-TRIBE, author of Lee hyori's U-Go-Girl, the title song, “Gee”, is a fast and lively dance song about the cute circumstances of a girl in love for the first time.
In the mini-album we can find 5 different songs, each one with their own color and style. 'Way to Go” is a punk-rock song with a cheerful meaning. 'Dear Mom” is a pop-ballad song about the feelings of a daughter towards her mother.
“We wanted to return with a perfect album. Unfortunately it took more time than expected. I think that through these five songs we are able to show you a diversity of colors and genres. Music that give a SNSD vibe, just like our songs.” (Tiffany)
“I cried while singing 'Dear Mom'. I started thinking about my mom, who worries and takes care me. Thinking about those times when I couldn't talk properly to her because of my busy schedule, I felt really sorry. Not only us, but daughters all over the world would feel the same.” (Sunny)
Last April SNSD stopped their group performances and started their individual activities. Taeyeon was active as a solo singer and as a DJ, and Yoona met the audience as an actress. Last fall, all members worked as fashion magazine editors in the cable channel Mnet reality show 'Factory Girl'. At that time, the girls were really excited to be chosen. Sooyoung ,who has a lot of interest in fashion, worked specially hard.
“Really, if I didn't turn into a singer this would be the kind of job I would want to do. I was really happy to have the chance to experience it.” (Sooyoung)
“The pages we edited as 'Elle Girls' were actually published. As a result, we developed a strong sense of responsibility.” (Sunny)

The members' experience as intern editors was shown in their new album. With colorful skinny jeans and body-fitting t-shirts, this fresh image is becoming a trend with people in their late teens and early twenties. This style was the result of all members' opinions and ideas.
"We saw many fashion shows while working as fashion magazine editors. Therefore we had the chance to see the items that would become popular the next season. It seemed that many people were using clothes with a simple style. This album is inspired by the many ideas we learned while working there.”(Tiffany)
It's been so long since we performed as a group, and everyone is overflowing with energy. Without doubt, our plan this year is to perform all year together."After the promotions for this album ends, we have plans for another mini-album. This year all members are going to be together. During the long wait for our comeback we learned the importance of being together in the same stage. Please look forward to our performance.” (SNSD)
